I'm not that rich u know...

Finally... Just back frm a really heavy FE1005 Material Science quiz... Somehow the questions that came out for the quiz were those that i have never heard of. Anyway, i passed.. got 50 out of 100 so i am not complaining much... I heard a girl saying as she left the lab, 'That was the worse quiz ever!!'

Anyway, i'm going to blog about some nonsense cause its my form of relieving stress after a quiz. Enjoy!

At the end of the quiz we spoke to him:

Associate Prof Zhang my material science tutor... found a nice pic of him... Look at my Cool and handsome material science tutor...
Jokes aside, He's from China and graduated from the top 10 University in the US. He's quite passionate when it comes to teaching material science but he needs to work on his accent cause it hinders communication with students.

After leaving the lab, i decided to go back to hall. Boy i was in luck today. guess who i bumped into at North Spine??? Yes... U guessed it, Miss Joanne Beh!!! Wat are the chances rite???
Feeling lucky, I decided to take a chance and asked her if i could take a photo with her....

Thankfully she willingly took a photo with me... I was so excited...

Wow, this was too cool. But i had to ask her some questions, it was such a rare opportunity to speak with a famous actress/fellow NTU schoolmate, so I decided to interview her,

Me: Hey Joanne wat are u doing here at North Spine?? I thought your school of Mass Communications is at the South Spine??

Joanne Beh: I rarely come to the North Spine cause i can't stand the sight of engineering students. The way engineering students dress for school... Its disgusting... Slippers, berms... Horrible. But the food at Canteen B is just as bad, so i decided to go to Canteen A for lunch.

Me: I see... Any tips for the engine students to improve their dress sense??

Joanne Beh: Maybe the girls can put on more make up like me and wear more diamonds from CityJams or even wear wedding gowns like the one i wore in the CityJams commercial...

Me: Wow, great advice. I've always wanted to know, Wat makes u want to continue to pursue a degree in NTU now that u have a promising career with Mediacock? The future looks really bright for u... Why waste the time doing projects in a school where u need to fight for places to sit in the canteen during lunchtime?

Joanne Beh: I need this degree cause i still wanna prove that beauty can coexist with brains.. That i am not some kind of bimbo who poses for soap and diamond commercials... Plus, ten yrs down the road i might start to age and when the wrinkles start appearing, nobody might want me to pose for their products and act anymore... I might be out of a job u know...

Me: Wow.. Great foresight... NTU must be proud to have such a outstanding student like you. I'm sure NTU can count on you to make the school look dynamic and vibrant....

Joanne Beh: Of course they can count on me!!! Who else can they count on to raise the image of NTU? Engineering students? They are too badly dressed, plus they got too many tutorials to do... NBS students?? Nah, they are too busy with their projects and trying to look good during presentations...

Me: Many pple say u are the richest undergrad?? Is it true??

Joanne Beh: Thats totally untrue... I've only posed for a dozen commericals which u see on magazines, taxis, shopping centres and on tv. Plus mediacock pays me peanuts for the countless dramas i act in. I can only afford my own car which is a Suzuki SRV... I'm really not tat rich u know... Plus parking my car at North spine carpark for two hrs makes me 2 dollars poorer a day. All this nonsense abt me being the richest undergrad, its all over-rated i tell u...

Me: Surely peanuts must mean 600K a yr!!! Anyway, many girls in Spore hope to be in your shoes, you are the the icon for modern women in Spore these days. Any tips for them???

Joanne Beh: Sure, Keep Hoping.... One day it will all come true...

Me: With such a deep pocket, beauty and brains, illustrious carrer, fame and glamour, It seems like u have it all... Doesn't that put pressure on your future husband to perform better than u?? Seen any potential husband in NTU?

Joanne Beh: Saw a cute guy in school that day... Just might consider him...He's abit too old for me...his name is Dr Suu. But i think he likes Diana Sir... Damn... She's got a Masters in the same course as me... For now, i can only hope he likes my recent 8dayz swimsuit photoshoot...

The Day China Defeated Singapore.

Maths FE 1006 tutorial ended at 1630 hrs today.

It was no ordinary tutorial class, in fact a fierce battle was raging between the Sporean and China students.

However at 1630hrs, the Singaporean students conceeded defeat, none of them had finished attempting their tutorials.
The Chinese from motherland had won the battle...Victory was sweet as their hard work paid off...
The Singaporeans hanged their heads in disbelief and stared hard at their blank pieces of fullscape paper...

The Indonesian Maths Tutor had no choice but to let the China students go up to the whiteboard to present their answers, she was not ready to receive any mediocre anwer from the Singaporean students.
The Singaporean students watched helplessly, their pens poised to copy the solutions from the board...

A nation's pride was at stake here....

The Singaporeans had no choice but to copy the solutions of the questions on Integration.

They had no answer, no answer to the China students who completed their tutorials and no answer on their fullscape paper...
They could only try frantically to copy the solutions while the China students chatted away...

Today Oct 7 2005 was undoubtedly the saddest day in Singapore's long and proud history.

It was the day when the Singaporean students did not complete their tutorials...

Just got back from my econs lecture, the lecture was at LT19A.
Nowadays i attend most lectures with my good friend Peiping. The lecture theatre was packed and many students were sitting on the isles on the lecture theatre. In fact, most of the isles were completely filled that there was hardly any space to walk. Found this photo of me and pp when we took it ard the same time last yr. This taken in the mrt while we were still in NS.

My friend Michael who is from the Philippines recently told me that he read my blog. I hope he didnt mind me writing comments abt foreign students in the previous entry especially the one about the China scholars. I got to know Michael recently through campus crusade.
Anyway i realised that contrary to the common perception of China students being nerds, there are the more modern ones who dress better and have better sense of fashion. In particular, there is one China girl who also stays in hall2 that is quite pretty. She is also from Engineering and same lecture grp as me. She wears clothes like addidas and there's this other China girl who has a tattoo on her back and likes to show it off by wearing bare back tops to lectures. Dunno how she can bear the air conditioning in the Lecture theatre when i have to wear a jacket and jeans because its really too cold in the LT sometimes. Anyway u might probably think that im some despo guy looking at gers during lectures, well to defend myself, I'll just say I like to describe the interesting things I see in school, it makes life more interesting.

Anyway for my friends who are studying in Australia now, latest update on some local news. Besides terrorism in Bali being the hottest news, the aedes mosquito has also caused alot of mayhem recently. In Bali, close to 30 pple reported dead because of suicide bombers. In Spore, 12 pple dead from dengue because of an insect.

This bloody insect reminds of my army days, where sitting at the guardpost I could kill at least 10 in an hour, all of them with white stripes. Recently, it dengue was so serious that someone stuck his head into a drain to get to the bottom matter. Well maybe he should try doing guard duty in NDU for a nite, or for that matter try spending a night in the bunks at UDG or dive school, it got so bad once that we had to wear our uniforms with socks to sleep. In our trainee days, some of us would wake up with bloodstains on our bed, no kidding. We would crush some mosquitoes while sleeping at night. One of my friend got dengue in UDG too.
In UDG, I brought up the problem about mosquitoes in the meet-the-commander dialouge session. Soon after, more fumigation was done and more drains were being cleared, but the mosquitoes still did not leave probably because there were to many potential breeding grounds for them that were left unturned. Meanwhile we had to put up the itchiness of the bites and the risk of getting dengue.
Nowadays, i hope that the Ministry of Environment would conduct spotchecks in NDU and go down hard on those pple sitting in their office while receiving a fat salary while the stay-in personals get bitten by the mosquitoes and risk getting dengue. Its always the case whereby situations get out of hand and then the authorities start to act when they could have been prevented. Bloody waste of taxpayers money those pple sitting in the office are...
